This project involved the analysis and design of three new steam-to-steam heat exchanger to serve six (6) existing Sterile Processing Service (SPS) devices. The existing steam supply is provided by a vendor and is suspected of being poor quality steam. The intent of this project was to create a separate steam loop with the heat exchanger to decouple the vendor supplied steam from the clean steam provided to the SPS devices. The heat exchanger will work in conjunction with the existing Reverse Osmosis/Deionized Water (RODI) system that was recently cleaned and serviceable prior to the use for this project.
